This series of three lectures consists of an introductory lecture explaining the general tools (applied general systems theory) used in the application of the New Way of Thinking and then two internationally renowned experts in their field who explain how they are applying these techniques to their own disciplines.

The second lecture in this series shall be held by the Economics Society with Dr. Paul Ormerod speaking. Dr. Ormerod is one of Britain’s leading Economists and one of the first to apply the New Way of Thinking to Economics where it has already given insight to many traditionally insoluble problems. He is an internationally best selling author of popular books on Economics such as The Death of Economics, Butterfly Economics and Why Things Fail. A founding director of the Henley Centre for Forecasting where he pioneered the use of many quantitative techniques of analysis in marketing, he now runs a successful consulting firm called Volterra Consulting and continues to play a large role in the Post-Autistic Economics Network which calls for reform in the academic teaching of Economics.

The third lecture in this series shall be on the religious implications of the New Way of Thinking by Dr. Satish Kumar. A deeply spiritual man, he is a former Indian (Jain) monk and has been called by Fritjof Capra "the sage of the deep ecology movement". A disciple of Vinoba Bhave (a disciple of Mahatma Gandhi and considered his spiritual successor), in 1962 he walked around the world penniless to Moscow, Paris, London and Washington DC to present teabags to the then four nuclear power leaders in the world to remind them to think before destroying the world. In 1982 he founded his own secondary school, The Small School. In 1991 he founded the Schumacher College, an international centre for ecological studies. An associate of Bertrand Russell, Martin Luther King, E.F. Schumacher and J. Krishnamurti, he is the author of many books such as No Destination: An Autobiography, You Are, Therefore I Am: A Declaration of Dependence and is the editor of Resurgence Magazine which for over thirty years has published articles that are on the cutting edge of current thinking, promoting creativity, ecology, spirituality and frugality.
